At The BPc Ltd., we have been contracted to proofread an English translation of a Swedish novel which documents the life of a Viking Chieftain. It is currently divided into Book 1 and Book 2 (we've read through the first book where the chieftain starts as a teenager). It's an interesting novel, based on historical data research, which brings 1,000-year old history to life. It will fire the imagination of people over 12 years of age who are studying Vikings, perhaps at school or college. Unfortunately, for current students, the book(s) will not be available until next year.
It's also a good read for all those who are interested in the historical life and times of previous generations and the development of cultures. Other books of this ilk include The Private Life of Mona Lisa by Pierre La Mure; the Christian Jacq series of Ramses novelisations; and many more about members of British Royalty.
The author of these Viking novels, Mikael Westlund, is based in the Stockholm area. Our book services were recommended to him by another of our author-clients, with whom we have worked on four novels.
