Collaborating on Websites

As small businesses diversify and specialise in various aspects of internet presence and promotion services, some of our recent websites are a result of collaborations with associates.

Towards the end of last year, The BPc worked with Professional Solutions and Simon Inc to produce a website for a London-based charity, Spark!

Simon Inc created the corporate design - colours, layout, etc., and Professional Solutions built a robust WordPress system, a content managment system that enables the client to update their own content, news items, etc.. The BPc set up optimisation for the website pages and prepared the bespoke training documentation. Each of us provided three months' client support.

For such a large undertaking, it was priced keenly (well, it's a charity) and their feedback was good.

Other projects between the three of us are currently in hand.

We have also worked on projects with Professional Solutions and Gardiner Design (like Simon Inc, they are branding and design specialists). These included the An Cos Sheildaig, a luxury self catering house in the Scotting Highlands. Once again, The BPc optimised the site content and assisted with social media.

Book Authors - writing, publishing, promoting.

At The BPc, we've written many blogs and articles but starting to think about writing a book is far too daunting to contemplate.

However, we are delighted to assist new authors with their publicity, even though there is virtually no financial incentive for us. The same often goes for film-makers, musicians, theatre and comedy.

In January 2014, we worked with new author Colin Lord to proof-read and publish his first novel - a crime thriller titled When the Odds are Evens. Colin was part-way through the sequel A Diamond to Kill For when, tragically, he bacame seriously ill and died.

We assisted another author with setting up his social media, which he is now using fairly regularly. We also advised with his iphone 'selfie' video, which we edited and uploaded to YouTube. Take a look (and a listen!) below:

Old Contacts, New Work

It's been a strange year, 2020. Last month, we were contacted by a former client who was enticed away from us by a sweet-talking rival company in their locality - their relationship did not work out and they have enquired about working with us again. This month, we were contacted by three people with whom we have previously worked: one from about about three years ago, one from a couple of years before that and one from last century!

To clarify that last contact, we were colleagues before The BPc was set up in 1990. Recently retired, Ian has written a book of the humorous events that comprised his working life in international I.T. sales. The book is available on Amazon in paperback and electronic formats but - the important thing to note is that half the proceeds of all purchases are going to the homeless charity, Crisis.

You can help the less fortunate whilst reading an entertaining collection of stories, as shown in the 'taster' online at Amazon and some comments, shown below.

An Accidental Salesman - Amazon books

The time when Ian almost had a career in a double-act on the Bar Mitzvah circuit in New York…

The times that an East Anglian farmer got the better of him, twice. Twice!

The one and only time that Ian flew Aeroflot... Never again!

For more, buy the book!

Website for Construction Services Co.

We are pleased to show you this fairly simple design for Mastic Pointing Services, a Herts-based joint sealing company. They have specialised in a single set of sealant services to the construction industry for the best part of 40 years, building an excellent reputation along the way.

The BPc was doubly pleased to be chosen as the website builder for this project, as we were recommended by another of our clients. The client was easy to work with and was happy with the delivered design.

We produce professional websites that enables clients, if they so wish, to update the content themselves - and we are always on hand to assist. Our rates are reasonable, too.

If you are looking for a new website or a redesign of your old one, do let us know. We'd be delighted to hear from you!

In the Pipeline...

If it seems a little quiet, it's because we have a number of projects in the pipeline but none that have been published this month.

Almost completed (i.e. delivered but not yet signed off) is a new website for a construction services company and just started is a branding project for a garden design service. This will include: graphic design of logo, business cards, etc., plus social media set up / customisation and CMS website. We hope to be able to let you see both these projects during the next few weeks. As we service existing clients, too, our small business is ticking over nicely.

We are in discussion regarding two other websites and a full seo/promotions service. While you're waiting for further information, why not take yourself on a nice relaxing summer break and drop in when you get back ;-)

SunSeeker UltraSlim doors vs other multi-door systems

Whilst researching the UK market for new competitors on behalf of SunSeeker Doors, we discovered some images and video demos which we've posted below for your comparison.

1. "Swing and Slide" from ProFix

2. New Wave Swing and Slide (same as ProFix?) - YouTube link

3. The bi-fold alternative from Panoramic Doors

Below: SunSeeker UltraSlim Doors - spot the difference!
More glass, less frame.

SunSeeker Doors designed and developed UltraSlim in 2009. They are the only manufacturers of these swing-and-slide / slide-and-pivot doors which are manufactured at their site in Bedfordshire. SunSeeker UltraSlim Doors are made to order to exact specifications and installed by SunSeeker's trained teams, not third party contractors.

The industry doesn't seem to have a common name for the multi-door pivot-slide-pivot-stack system and they are often marketed as hinge-less bifolds.

We are not sure which other doors are manufactured in the UK and who the manufacturers are (it's part of our on-going research) but it seems that Panoramic was a USA company that is beginning to manufacture in England and other companies are importing German systems.

SunSeeker Doors cannot guarantee that nothing ever goes wrong with an installation, as there may be other construction teams on site but, as a one-stop-shop, clients have only one point of contact for any door-related queries. The company is privately owned and has been manufacturing aluminium framed patio doors since 2003. Visit www.sunseekerdoors.co.uk for more details and a quotation.
