Using Videos for Promotion

Recently, our clients have started using video to promote their products and asked us for assistance. This ranges from being provided with 'walkabout' footage from a client's iphone to being asked to direct and edit a series of promotional shorts at clients' offices.

This year, we've enlisted the services of a young filmmaker whose experience includes directing, cinematography, lighting, camera, editing, etc.

The first video we asked him to edit was filmed in Ireland on an iphone. The next video, for the same company, was to be filmed in their London offices featuring an 'interview' with the Chief Investment Officer answering some set questions.

There are some difficulties with filming in a small bright space in a busy open office environment. Available backdrops included two sides with windows and other distractions, whilst the other two sides had reflective glass in the form of a screen and a large, fixed, framed print. There were difficulties with sound, too - not just from within the office (chatter, telephones, etc.) but from major building works immediately outside the window.

A couple of hours later, there were four or five takes from which to edit the best bits together. Back at the editing desk, this took another couple of hours for a clean version to be published. The finished results are below.

The videos have been published to the company's various social media accounts, as part of our website promotions services for clients. The BPc is not a full-on video producer.
